Learn by making a design

Public preview · use sample designs while testing

1. Your first saved gemstone

  1. Open the workshop and choose a preset. Give the design a distinctive name.
  2. Change its width and compare the shape and calculated volume.
  3. Save to This browser. Change the width again and save another version.
  4. Reopen the project, inspect its history and restore the earlier version.
  5. Download a project backup. Import it and compare dimensions before relying on the copy. To preserve every saved version, use the Backups page and Download full history.

2. Edit individual planes

  1. Open the facet editor and start with its preset.
  2. Select a facet and make a small angle or offset change.
  3. Apply the change, inspect the preview, then use Undo and Redo.
  4. Save a version, reopen it, then restore an earlier version as a draft. Download a backup too.

The editor uses its own plane-model format, with device-only saves and downloaded backups. Workshop and plane projects are listed in their respective workspaces. Plane offsets describe geometry, not machine cutting depths. Meet-point constraint solving and cutting-machine verification remain unfinished.

3. Follow light and fit rough

  1. Open Optics & rough. Choose a saved workshop or facet-editor design and version, then select Analyze saved version. You can also import either project format.
  2. For plane projects, enter the material refractive index first. Trace a ray, then change the entry point and compare its actual path.
  3. Check escaped and unresolved power together; unresolved power is not absorption.
  4. Search the rough orientations. Try smaller rough dimensions and observe when the design no longer fits.
  5. Under Keep this study, enter a name and save a study version. Reopen it to reproduce your settings, or download the study with recalculated results.

This scalar model assumes isotropic, nonabsorbing material and averages polarization at each encounter. It is not a brilliance grade or a realistic colored-stone render. Rough planning searches centered orientations on a finite grid, without defect or crystal-axis constraints.

4. Explore a setting blank

  1. Open Jewelry CAD and select a saved workshop design and version, then choose Use saved gemstone. You can also import a workshop backup.
  2. Adjust clearance, wall thickness and shoulder dimensions.
  3. Review interference and topology results before exporting a sample mesh.
  4. Name the jewelry study and save a version. Change the wall thickness, update the design and save again. Reopen an earlier version, then save to restore it without erasing history.
  5. Download study inputs or back up the full history. Inspect exported millimeter units, dimensions and mesh integrity in an independent slicer or CAD tool.

This experimental circular blank has no fitted bearing, retention or shank. Passing mesh checks does not make it suitable for manufacture or stone setting. Material, process, tolerances and professional design review are still required.
